SPREADING HELP
Whilst the news has been dominated by Ukraine it is easy to forget the plight of refugees in other
countries. As well as working with European churches to provide emergency aid in Ukraine, Christian
Aid is working in partnership with the World Food Programme to tackle the needs of displaced
people in three other countries – Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and refugees from
Myanmar who have fled to Bangladesh. Amid all this suffering, Christian Aid continues its support
for people in parts of the world most affected by climate change. So the need for money is greater
than ever.
15 th to 21 st May is CHRISTIAN AID WEEK, the biggest funding-raising time in the year for Christian
Aid. People in Sharnbrook have always been very generous in their support, and as in the past two
years the Churches in Sharnbrook are asking for donations which can be given in two ways:
Cash or cheque (made payable to Sharnbrook Methodist Church) donations can be dropped in to
Mike Bonney at 2 Lodge Close, Sharnbrook. Please place in an envelope marked “Christian Aid”.
Bank transfer to Sharnbrook Methodist Church Account, Sort Code 544105 Account No
06812856 and please include “Christian Aid” as the reference.
