The Bedford Sports and Physical Activity Awards have been running for over 25 years and it is once again time to make your nominations.
The Awards have been presented to hundreds of local clubs, teams, and individuals to recognise their dedication and many achievements. This year marks a return to an in-person ceremony at the Bedford Corn Exchange on Monday 5 December 2022.
Councillor Doug McMurdo, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, said, “This is an opportunity to recognise the commitment given, with great enthusiasm and passion, by so many people in Bedford Borough, to sport and physical activity – bringing about so much joy and pleasure for many in our communities.
“It is fantastic to see people make such a variety of sport and physical activity available to our communities, and then be recognised and appropriately rewarded. I look forward to seeing the nominations from as many as possible.
“I thank the many local businesses who help sponsor these awards, without them, it would not be possible to host the Awards.”

There are a wide range of award categories for individuals, teams, clubs, and organisations including Coach, Unsung Hero and the Young Volunteer of the Year. There is also a Service to Sport Award, which recognises significant contributions to sport over a long period of time.
Everyone is invited to make nominations for those they feel deserve recognition. The list of categories, along with nomination forms and all details, are available at: www.bedford.gov.uk/sportsawards. The deadline for nominations is Tuesday 15 November 5pm.
