Display of Texas Instruments and Bourns items

75 years of Technological Innovation in Bedford

Our new display explores the story behind Bedford’s technological innovation industry over the last 75 years through Texas Instruments and Bourns Ltd.

Bedford has been home to semi-conductor production for mass market products such as calculators and computers, and more recently mobile phones and office equipment, since 1957. The display is located outside the ‘Somewhere in England’ Gallery, and is open until June 2023.
