Changing Times Exhibition Comes to a Close

Your last chance to view this vibrant and wide-ranging exhibition is Sunday 16th April. It brings outstanding British art of the 20th and 21st centuries to Bedford. This unique exhibition brings together almost one hundred works. It’s free to view and is found on the ground floor. Learn more about the exhibition here.

New Display from Aragon Lacemakers

A new lacemaking display launched this week celebrating the 45th anniversary of local lacemaking group Aragon Lacemakers.

Visitors can discover a variety of lace items made by members of Aragon Lacemakers including bracelets, gloves and coloured lace pictures.

Learn more about the history of lacemaking in Bedfordshire and view some beautiful handmade lace items. Lacemaking has been a major local cottage industry in Bedfordshire since the 1500s, when it is believed to have been introduced to the area by the Huguenots, from France. Don’t forget to also visit the Bedfordshire Lace display that continues in the Somewhere in England Gallery on the first floor.
