PLANNED ROAD WORKS FOR CHURCH LANE, SHARNBROOK
We are writing to you to let you know that roadworks are due to start soon on the above roads as part of Bedford Borough Council’s highway works programme.
The works will consist of resurfacing the carriageway and reinstating road markings. To include civils works to damaged kerbs and replacing ironworks covers, as follows:

Signs will be put up at the ends of the site which will provide the most up to date information if the programme changes. A diversion route via High Street Sharnbrook-Kennel Hill-Templars Way – A6 (south) – exit at Milton Earnest onto Radwell Road-The High Road at Felmersham – Causeway and onto Odell Road to rejoin the closure at the top end of Church Lane, Sharnbrook. This diversion route will be in place during the hours of the road closure.
Please note the following during the works:
- Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
- Please be respectful of the workforce and, if you are permitted to drive through the road closure, please keep speeds down to a minimum to protect the safety of the workforce.
- All site vehicles are fitted with reversing beepers and flashing lights so please be careful when approaching the site.
- Resurfacing operations are noisy, and we apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause you. The works have been programmed in co-ordination with our Streetworks teams to ensure that they are carried out at the best times to reduce traffic disruption.
- Before we close the road, we may carry out some minor works that may mean that some areas are coned off or temporary traffic lights may be used.
The proposed resurfacing works will include the closure of Lodge Road which will impact the last outbound Stagecoach 50 service to Kettering scheduled to go through Sharnbrook at 20:48, meaning that Milton Earnest, Radwell, Felmersham Sharnbrook, will not receive the last bus service for the evening from 26th August to 9th September. The last outbound Stagecoach 50 service to Kettering will be accommodated for through the first week of the closure 18th August to 22nd August.
