Sharnbrook’s 30th Christmas Fayre truly went with a splash on Friday 5th December. The Scout Hut was used for the first time for a variety of stalls which attracted a real buzz out of the rain. The weather prevented stalls on the Swan carpark but space was found in the barn to try and accommodate everyone. Santa had an excited queue of children outside his Grotto, the choir sang, chestnuts sizzled, the tree and village sparkled. Thank you to all the people and families who turned out to support the fayre and created such a festive atmosphere. None of this would happen without the generosity of volunteers and support of the businesses and our community which ensures Sharnbrook is brightly lit for advent and Christmas. A special thank you to Alan McIlroy for donating the tree in memory of his much loved wife Sylvia who so used to enjoy looking out on the green and the lights. Finally, it is team work that pulls it altogether and overcomes the many challenges. This year we were lucky to have the expertise and support of David Eyre to co-ordinate putting up the lights and sharing his electrical knowledge. It’s roughly 360 days until the next one. Hopefully we’ll be back!
