Armistice Day and Remembrance Day unite people across all faiths, cultures and backgrounds to remember the service and sacrifice made by the Armed Forces community from Britain and the Commonwealth.

We also pay tribute to the special contribution of families and of the emergency services and acknowledges the innocent civilians who have lost their lives in conflict and acts of terrorism.

The school on Hillgrounds Road will eventually have places for 200 children and young people from across Bedford Borough. It will provide vital education for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, aged 2-19, whose needs have been identified as requiring specialist educational placements. The children attending this new school will predominantly have profound and multiple learning disabilities, severe learning disabilities and autism.

We will be setting up a performance space in the heart of Harpur Square in Bedford, as well as at the Saxon Centre Square in Kempston.  Performances will take place between 10am-4pm on the 9, 16, and 23 December.

In addition, small grants will be available to cover eligible costs. Whether you are a musician, poet, choir, band, singer, dancer, we want you to be a part of this joyous celebration.

The Priory Country Park playground, which has undergone a real transformation through these works, features a range of new and improved equipment that embodies the theme of “nature” and caters to a wider range of ages and abilities.

Both refurbishment projects are part of the larger £1.5million Riverside For All initiative, which aims to enhance recreational spaces, improve footpaths, and contribute to the overall revitalisation of our beautiful riverside and the communities that use it.
