Volunteers united for early morning clean-up to prepare festival grounds

A big thank you to all the volunteers that came together in an inspiring display of teamwork at the Big River Festival Clean Up on Sunday 21 July.

Starting at 6:30am, 93 volunteers gathered at Russell Park, The Embankment, Mill Meadows, Castle Mound, Play Areas, Aspects, and the surrounding roads to ensure the festival grounds were spotless and ready to welcome visitors by 10am for the second day of the River Festival.

Thanks are given to everyone involved and the site was all cleared by 8.15am.

Volunteer in our green flag parks

Four of Bedford’s parks have again been awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award for 2024. This internationally recognised quality mark celebrates well-managed and welcoming parks and open spaces. The award-winning parks are Bedford Park, Addison Howard Park, Priory Country Park and Harrold-Odell Country Park.

Volunteers needed at FLAG’s afternoon fundraiser event

FLAG is a social group for Adults with Disabilities’ and their carers and family and they are holding a fundraiser on Thursday 15 August between 2-4pm. They are seeking volunteers to help on the day and at their weekly group and other events.
