(SHARNBROOK FOOTHPATH NO 6)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the
date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person
proceeding on foot along the length of Sharnbrook: Footpath No 6 which extends from
Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 0069 5926 (Map point A) to OS GR SP 0116
5958 (Map point B). (See link below)
This temporary closure is required to carry out Archaeology Works.
The closure is expected to take place from Monday 1 st May 2023 for up to six months
The alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation will be to proceed
along Mill Road to OS GR SP 0069 5926 (Map point A) then proceed in an easterly direction
to OS GR SP 0110 5920 (Map point C) and along Footpath No 8 to OS GR SP 0116 5958
(Map point B) and vice visa.
The proposed Order will come into operation on 1 st May 2023 for a period not exceeding six
months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpath have
been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the
Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for
Transport.
