The Council is preparing a Development Brief for Greyfriars to provide guidance for future development of the area. Greyfriars is a key regeneration opportunity and the Development Brief will support policies in the Council’s development plan.
The purpose of this consultation is to gather comments on the draft Development Brief, which has been prepared following the scoping consultation last year.
We want to hear your views on the content and layout of the Development Brief. In preparing your comments, it may be helpful to consider the following points:
- Purpose and status of the Development Brief. Are the purpose, scope and status of the Development Brief clearly set out? Do you agree with the boundary of the area it covers?
- Policy Context. Does the review of national and local policy appropriately set the scene for the Development Brief?
- Site Appraisal and development influences. Do you agree that the analysis of the Development Brief area and wider context is sufficiently comprehensive?
- Vision and Objectives. Do you agree with the vision and guiding principles for new development at Greyfriars?
- Development Principles. Do you agree with the principles that have guided the development of the Greyfriars masterplan? Do you agree with the illustrative masterplan?
- Design Code. Do you agree with the Design Code?
- Phasing and delivery. Do you agree with the indicative phasing strategy?
If your answer to any of the above points is ‘no’, please explain how you think the document could be improved to make it better.
- Do you have any other comments?
This consultation will run until 5pm on 19th December 2023.
