These talks with local historian Maurice Nicholson are free to attend, but you’ll need to book your place in advance by speaking to staff at Bedford Central Library or calling 01234 312478 during staffed hours.

The Bedfordshire Heritage Library will be open for an extra session on the 1^st of June from 11am to 1pm. There’s no need to book, just drop in and volunteers will show you some items from our collection with a royal theme.

There’s lots planned to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee so look out for a special newsletter later this month.

Lego Club has returned to Bedford Central Library every Saturday from 11am to 3pm during term-time, and Kempston Library every Monday 2pm to 4.45pm in the children’s libraries.

We also have Building Block Play for little ones aged 1 and over. Come to Bedford Central Library on Tuesdays from 11am to 1pm, and Kempston Library on Tuesdays from 11.30am to 1pm, both term-time, where you’ll find Mega Bloks and building tables to explore.

LibraryPlus is now available at Kempston and Putnoe Libraries, so LibraryPlus members can enjoy extended self-service hours in all Bedford Borough Libraries!
