Yoga and Wellbeing in the Park

Yoga and wellbeing in the park 

This year’s event will take place this coming Sunday 9 June in Bedford Park (next to the Pavilion). There will be free Yoga sessions available for all ages and abilities plus a Wellbeing Information Desk which will include mental health and wellbeing advice and signposting.

All Yoga sessions are free with no booking necessary. All we ask is that you fill in a disclaimer on arrival.

Active Wellbeing – additional session

starting 13 June

Active Wellbeing sessions are gentle exercise sessions for people who are moving through cancer treatment and people with arthritis or other long term health conditions that limit normal exercise.

The sessions are specifically structured to support people experiencing a wide range of long-term health conditions.

The sessions take place each Monday 11.30am to 12.30pm (excluding Bank Holidays) at John Bunyan Sports and Fitness, Mile Road, Bedford, MK42 9TS.

And Thursdays 11.30am to 12.30pm (from 13 June) at Bedford International Athletics Stadium, Barkers Lane Bedford MK41 9SB

Please note these are not clinical referral groups so please consult your medical team or GP before attending.

Mindfulness – Sound Baths

Wednesdays 11am to 12 noon, at Bedford Central Library

No booking is necessary, just turn up and pay on the day. Sign-in on the landing of the 3rd floor of the library.

Maximum class size 25 people (first come, first served basis). Cash only, the price is £3.50 and change will be available.

It is recommended to bring along a warm blanket and/or eye mask to shield from the light.

Fit and Fed

FandFFit and fed Kempston, takes place every Sunday between 2pm and 4pm for children and young people aged 8 to 14 years. The event takes place at the Youth Centre, Hillgrounds, Kempston, Bedford. MK428QP. For more information and to sign up for a place visit the Sporting aid website.

Canoe Trail

CT 

Canoe Trail, based at Kempston Outdoor Centre, Hillgrounds Road, Kempston, offer kayak, stand-up paddleboard and canoe hire on the river from Kempston to Bedford Embankment, Great Barford and beyond.

Canoe Trail also offer a range of courses including British Canoeing Discover Awards, and a weekly expedition paddle every Saturday from Kempston Outdoor Centre to Cardington lock.
