Bedford Bowling Club

BBowls

Bedford Bowling Club is one of the oldest in the Borough. Pleasantly situated at the top of Bedford Park, behind the Pavilion Café. The club was founded in 1904, with the women’s club being founded in 1914. We became a combined club some years ago, and offer playing facilities to all people over 10 years old. The club takes part in various friendly and County competitions during the outdoor playing season from April – October. For more detail please visit our website:- www.bedfordbowlingclub.co.uk. Or type into any search engine “Bedford bowling club – hugo fox”. This is so you don’t get the alternative club in Perth, Australia!
Our practice days (called roll-ups) are from 2-4 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays. But we hope to have some evening practice days set up this year, starting at around 7pm.
Anyone who starts out trying the game will be given basic tuition and all we ask is for you to wear flat-soled shoes to preserve the green. If you decide to join there is an annual membership fee of £27.50 plus a Borough Green fee of £63.55. We will give several weeks free membership to see if you like the game before asking for any money, and also free tuition if you have never tried bowling before.
