New COVID-19 Guidance as Government announces Plan B

England is moving to Plan B in response to the threat posed by the Omicron variant.

  • Wear a face covering in most indoor public places and on public transport
  • Get tested and self-isolate if required
  • Work from home, if you can
  • Get vaccinated and boosted – boosters for over 40s are now available from three months
  • Let fresh air in if you meet indoors. Meeting outdoors is safer

If you had your first COVID-19 vaccination on or before 14 October, you’re now due for your second dose. Vaccine drop ins are available in Bedford Borough for both first and second doses, with no appointment necessary. For more information and for opening times click here.

You can book your COVID-19 booster dose online if it’s been 2 months (61 days) since you had your 2nd dose and you are:

  • aged 40 and over
  • aged 16 and over with a health condition that puts you at high risk from COVID-19
  • a frontline health or social care worker

You’ll be offered appointment dates from 3 months (91 days) after the date of your 2nd dose.
