Rights of Way – Information and Contact details

What Rights of Way covers:

• The Rights of Way Team is responsible for the management and maintenance of Public Footpaths, Bridleways, Byways and Restricted Byways. This includes:

• • Path Obstructions
    • Fallen trees, overgrown vegetation (from hedges or verges), or illegal obstructions across a path.
  • Signage and Waymarking
    • Missing or damaged fingerposts and waymarking discs.
  • Stiles & Gates
    • Reports of broken or unsafe stiles or gates.
  • Surface Conditions
    • Serious damage to the path surface that makes it difficult to use.
  • Ploughing & Cropping
    • Issues where crops have not been cleared from a definitive right of way.
• Please note issues relating to adopted pavements alongside roads, street lighting or general ‘urban’ alleyways are typically handled by the Highways Team rather than Rights of Way.
