Please see update below on this week’s works, including progress on Mill Road roundabout.
Works completed this week;
- The drainage installation has continued within Mill Road, although an unexpected clash on the storm network was discovered on Sunday. This has resulted in a small redesign, which shouldn’t affect overall programme. However, this has prevented us from moving the traffic management barriers away from Lower Furlong.
- The splitter islands have had tarmac installed.
- The left hand side of the roundabout has been surfaced
Planned works this weekend;
- A full road closure will be in place on Saturday ONLY.
- Saturday: Continue with drainage works. Flip the traffic management to the other side of the roundabout. Start installation of the hydro brake manhole with the attenuation pond on site.
Lower Furlong access arrangements;
- Residents exiting Lower Furlong will not be able to turn left onto Mill Road during the Saturday closure.
- Right turn access towards the A6 roundabout will remain open.
Next week;
- Continue construction of the right side of the roundabout.
- Continue with drainage works to Mill Road.
- Move traffic management barriers back and away from Lower Furlong.
